The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

After leaving Penn State I worked for several years in the microbiology laboratory at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. I was lucky to have worked there long enough to take advantage of an early retirement package and jumped at the chance. In my mid forties while still at Geisinger I took up sky diving and was taught by the Ripcords at Hazleton airport. I had three successful jumps and planned to quit at five but broke my ankle on the fourth jump. It is an exciting sport to say the least. Thereafter I became interested in writing poetry and joined a group headed by a now well known poet, JoAnne Growney. I have had several poems published in various books, collections and a journal. After our leader moved to Maryland, I joined a Writer's Group that meets at the Bloomsburg, Pa. library once a month. I also have a therapy dog, Duffy, a border Terrier, who has a few hundred visits under her collar. She is now ten and the visits have slowed down but she has made many happier for having known her. I am very proud of her.
